Commissioning Engineer (FIFO)
About the Role
A Tier 1 mining client is ramping up commissioning activities on a major iron ore expansion project in the Pilbara and needs an experienced Commissioning Engineer for a 12-month contract (with strong potential for extension).
This is a 2/1 FIFO roster out of Perth, working alongside a multi-discipline commissioning team on HV switchgear, protection systems, and plant control commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems (HV and LV)
- Protection relay testing (Omicron / Doble)
- Loop checks and functional testing of control systems
- Working to system completion databases and handover documentation
- Liaising with client representatives and construction teams
- Maintaining safety-first approach in an active mining environment
Required Experience
- 5+ years commissioning experience on major projects
- Strong background in HV switchgear and protection systems
- Experience with Omicron CMC testing equipment
- Familiarity with mining or heavy industrial commissioning
- Current HV authorisation (or able to obtain)
- FIFO-ready with relevant site safety tickets (BOSIET desirable)
