Commissioning Engineer (FIFO)

About the Role

A Tier 1 mining client is ramping up commissioning activities on a major iron ore expansion project in the Pilbara and needs an experienced Commissioning Engineer for a 12-month contract (with strong potential for extension).

This is a 2/1 FIFO roster out of Perth, working alongside a multi-discipline commissioning team on HV switchgear, protection systems, and plant control commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems (HV and LV)
• Protection relay testing (Omicron / Doble)
• Loop checks and functional testing of control systems
• Working to system completion databases and handover documentation
• Liaising with client representatives and construction teams
• Maintaining safety-first approach in an active mining environment

Required Experience

• 5+ years commissioning experience on major projects
• Strong background in HV switchgear and protection systems
• Experience with Omicron CMC testing equipment
• Familiarity with mining or heavy industrial commissioning
• Current HV authorisation (or able to obtain)
• FIFO-ready with relevant site safety tickets (BOSIET desirable)

• Day rate: $1,200 – $1,500 per day (ABN)
